A team of Italian delegates visited ENGIM SL on the 24th January, 2015. The team comprised of the Honorable Minister of Emergency (Mario Baldi), Francesco Vario and a Medical Doctor Vicenzo Oddo. The visit was an assessment one, to see what the Italian emergency response is on the ground and get firsthand information on the EVD outbreak and visit NGOs supported by the Italian Cooperation. They started with a visit at ENGIM SL Office and were later taken to the St. John of God Catholic Hospital – Lunsar where support is provided to the works on the triage, OPD,X-Ray Department , Dustbin ,incinerator, the provision of medical supplies and training , the visit ended up with the Holy Spirit Hospital in Makeni who are also beneficiaries of the MAECI 1 project.
The head of the Italian Cooperation Projects Stefania Pace visited ENGIM to familiarize herself with ENGIM’s operation pertaining with the MAECI Projects that addresses the emergency response to the Ebola. She had a meeting with ENGIM Staff in the conference room of the new ENGIM office building and on the following day, she was taken to the field to see ENGIM and partners’ preparation for the MAEC2 project activities to be implemented
She visited Mathempra community in Masimera Chiefdom and witnessed the distribution of food and clothing to 47 Orphans. She also visited Katick, Royeben and Masimera PHUs (Primary Health Unit) which are to be rehabilitated and further supported with Training, provision of medical supplies, other logistics, WASH and social mobilization action in the catchment areas of the PHUs in partnership with CTF (Camillian Task Force).
